I stamped the rose outline in opposite corners and used Wink Of Stella Clear to shimmer the rose.

Trying something new with RS198

I was working on some lunch box cards for my daughter and saw the RS#198 sketch so I thought I’d try something new with one of the dies and the sketch. Here’s what I made:

Here’s the sketch:

Some fun points. My frame is a partial peek-through – the border shows the background but in the center I put a sentiment and popped up the cookie:

I used watercolor paints and “brush flicking” to create the background on the card. The space was too much plain. Adding the splatter balanced out the card for my eye. I love the look – more solid than using Glimmer Mist or Spray pens.

Thanks to Retro Sketches for a great sketch where encouraged me to try something new!  Stamp set and dies are from Simon Says Stamp.   Thanks for stopping by my space in the internet world!.

Technique Tuesday – another use for your embossing folders

It’s Tuesday and here’s something you can use your embossing folders for to create some fun and different backgrounds.

You can see a card I made using this technique by clicking on this link- You Keep Me Afloat!   It’s always good to have another use for your embossing folders.  Have a great day!

In the chill, it’s nice to think of the beach!

It’s been a little chilly over here in MD and we saw our first snow on Sunday which makes me wish for the beach! Here’s a fun card using paper layering and simple Cricut cut-outs!

SITA Card wm

I grabbed some Sapphire and Desert Sand papers to create the front of the card.  I was hoping to have it look like the waves coming in on a beach.  The images are cut out of the Cricut Artistry Cartridge *Love*!  The images work with this stamp set:

I use this method for helping me be more accurate on how I center my stamping on Cricut images:

Here you can see how I lined up the ball:

SITA Card wm b

I actually used the ball to hold the front of the card shut by having the sentiment stamp slip under the ball:

On the inside of the card, I put this absolutely adorable crab (I love in Maryland and crabs are a big thing here) inside the card with the sentiment and a starfish:

See how cute this crab is:

I also used the awesome Regatta paper pack:

Everything to create this is a must have for beach cards and layouts!!
