Welcome Home Wreath

This is my version of the Welcome Home Wreath. Because I glued some things together before I really looked at the pictures (I highly recommend looking at the pictures with the written instructions to see the layers involved in the succulents), I ended up with some extra flowers which, in my humble opinion, turned out okay.

I decided to add some soft color, Pixie, to the roses. They were too stark for me. I like to dampen my roses before I roll them and I use water in a fine mister (our spray pens) along with some shimmer acrylic paint that CTMH used to sell. I’m lucky enough to have a tube or two left. Just takes a pea size drop in our misters to add shimmer. For me, nothing is complete without glitter or shimmer (much to my husband’s dismay).

I just love the succulents on this wreath. The green ones have a pretty pattern that almost reminds me of how aloe looks. The blue ones, add some more color. I worked my wreath a little higher on the right side (as you are looking at it) because I had the extra flowers.

I rolled the petals of the succulents with my piercing tool (this is a must have when you are paper crafting). This gives them dimension. I also did this to the leaves to give them dimension as well.

By distressed my flowers before assembling with ink and a sponge dauber (also knows as direct to paper distressing), I give them more dimension. The colors used were Fern on the green succulents and Juniper on the blue succulents.
