Wow, how wonderful that Mojo Monday is celebrating it’s 400 sketch! Way to go! I’ve had a few ideas running around in my head since I saw the sketch. Today, I was able to play -whew…I’ll be able to sleep tonight. I created this card “Wonderful” to celebrate with them. I rotated the sketch to make the card.

I’ve been dying to work with the “bokeh” background technique. I had a great time creating it with Pear, Smoothie, and Lagoon inks along with the White Daisy Pigment ink pad. It was super easy to do (use a sponge cut in to quarters). I love the look!

I used a few different stamp sets on this card. It’s a sneak peak to the July SOM (“Wonderful”) along with D1627 Your Own Kind of Wonderful (the butterflies are awesome) and D1651 Wavy Blooms (I’m addicted to coloring the flowers in this one).

The sketch has this cute partial circle in the bottom left corner. I dry embossed with a leaf patterned folder.

I used the rock and roll inking technique on the butterflies are they are a “two-step” (base and top), then embossed the top in block. I also did some of the butterflies in “second generation” (ink the stamp, stamp, then stamp again before reinking – you get a lighter image). I embossed “Wonderful” (using black pigment ink and clear embossing powder).

I colored the flower in with ShinHan Touche markers. I added Wink of Stella to my flower and butterflies. I shaped the butterflies to give them more dimension. Because I wanted the focus to be on the background, I refrained from adding additional embellishment.

I love watching the sketches from Mojo Monday as they keep my creative juices flowing.
Smiles, hug, and happy creating!
