Bittersweet
The past two weeks of March have been bittersweet due to the loss of several pets. Above is my Boo, who joined us in Guam. He’s been with us over 16 years. Boo has traveled from Guam and all across the US from in our move to Maryland. If you were looking for him, you needed not look further than a heater, a guest, or myself. It will be strange to be without my sidekick.
These cutey patooties are Sunny and JJ. Sarah Grace added JJ to our household 5 years ago, purchasing him just after Christmas with her own money. He’s been a delight to have. JJ loved the kids who attended ZooTastic (our child care program), greeting everyone each morning. He was very vocal and chatty with us all. Curious, inquisitive, and loved to be held. JJ was amazing in allowing Sarah Grace to love on him very hard.
Sunny was quite the character, being a prima donna. She ruled the herd. Sunny loved her food and was quite vocal when we fed her. She was happy to let us know if we were late in food delivery. Sunny was not the most affectionate in she didn’t like to be held. She sure loved a good chin scratching.
Both of these piggies were adopted from Anne Arundel SPCA. JJ was at least 3-4 years of age and Sunny 2 when they made their appearances in our lives. JJ was over 9 and Sunny, 5, when they crossed the rainbow bridge.
At times like this, I find myself seeking solace in the Word. I’ve also taken a bit up on the Bible journaling. The “100 Days” starts on April 3 but I was compelled to start earlier.
Grief is a mysterious thing. Crafting and being in the word helps me feel more grounded along with diffusing some Breathe, Lemon, Lavender, Peppermint, and a drop of Forgive. Doing the Bible journaling is something I’m exploring. Here a few things I’ve pages I’ve worked on.
The Inspire Bible is wonderful with coloring areas thrown in through out the Bible. I love the space for journaling my thoughts as I read and pray. Life can throw you some bittersweet moments. I’m blessed to have my crafting and God to help through such moments.
Take care and have a wonderful day,
Linda, so sorry to hear about the loss of your pets. It is hard to lose them because you love them so much. Also, thank you for showing your bible journaling. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with your Bible after you’ve read the scripture—kind of like a meditation period!
Thank you Debbie. You are right. I do find comfort in the Word and in creating. It’s a brilliant combination. =)
