Something New Something Blue

My creative challenge this month was to play with something new. I tried out the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks which I got for Mother’s Day. I was excited to play with creating some different backgrounds. This is my favorite. I love how you can dry and layer different colors on top of each other. Here you can see the difference between water and different colors layered on top of each other.

Jack Cardmaking Stamp set is great. I love that it comes with dies. When you are making a card or two, thin cut dies are the way to go. Isn’t he cute? The “paws” are created to be able to be able to hold different things. I used the “Bear Hugs” sign, put googly eyes on the bear, and Liquid Glass on the bear’s nose to make it shiny.

For the sentiment, I stamped in the dark blue distressed oxide ink but it did not pop like I had hope it would. So I took Memento Black ink, shifted just a hair to the right and created a “shadow” behind or alongside of the dark blue ink. I love how it tuned out. You can see the smatterings of different colors. I’m going to see next, if I can take regular pigment ink reinkers and mix with dye based ink and create something similar!
