Cup of Cheer Shaker Card
In making the Shaker Card Party and doing the Spring Coffee Loving Paper Crafters Blog Hop, I combined the two and created three shaker cards to have available for purchase at the class. I created the cards in Design Space using images from the CTMH Exclusive Cartridges as well as some of the free ones they offer. The stamp set is a retired CTMH stamp set – Coffee Ring. I tend to hang on to anything coffee.
I used Pixie cardstock for the base because it’s pretty “springy”. Kraft paper just looks so right with coffee themed cards, I used it as the top of my card. Get a box of transparencies from Staples to make the inside of the card. some bright shaker toppings from both Queen and Company as well as Michaels. Stamp the Pixie cardstock using Chocolate ink. The saying is from a coffee stamp set, Caffeine Addict, from Sugar Pea Designs.
Now, I build the container for the shaker material with our 3D foam tape. I used two layers of it so the beads would roll around better. I have done one layer and you’ll see that in another post. Two works better for more movement. A lesson learned is figuring out how to build the well on the base and have it line up right. Top down like I did, leave you trying to line up the card upside down. It makes the Queen and Company Shaker Cards look quite lovely for the ease of making the cards!! You can see that the shaker contents have plenty of room to move around.
To finish up, I used the Shimmer Brush to add shimmer to the letters in the title. I used the Dreamin’ Big Sequins with gold glitter gems in the center for embellishments. It’s a great card to send to someone not feeling well or having a down day or time in their life. Well, everyone needs a cup of cheer. =)
