What do you do when you have a special person to send birthday wishes to? You have a one of a kind birthday card made! My neighbor’s daughter turned 18 last week and he had me to make a card that reflected her love of sports, turning 18, pink/purple are favorite colors, and “Girly but not”! This is what I came up with:

I love Design Space and my Cricut Air!! I searched around, setting the filters for images I owned or were on the subscription. I found this great overlay card and cut it out in Hollyhock cardstock. I then sliced the image to cut off the back part of the card and just have the front overlay. I cut the front again out of Close to My Heart Pink Glitter Paper and Purple Glitter Paper. I cut portions of those images out to glue down over the top of the original overlay. I put the CTMH Gold Glitter Paper behind the word “birthday”. I backed the overlay in black. Fun, right?!

On the inside, I cut two White Daisy panels out. I found the image of the girl lacrosse player (I’m telling, the Design Space subscription rocks!!). Cut this all out. Cut out “Big 18”, and got a personalized message from Dad, wrote it out using the Cricut pens – purple. He was so pleased with having a “one-in-a-kind” card for his daughter.

I love creating something that makes someone smile! I loved getting the message from Dad that his daughter loved her card! This is what it’s all about – making the connection or helping others make the connection, with the special people in our lives.
