I created this “Thinking of You” sympathy card with the New Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 181. I loved the challenge and I needed something that is simple and elegant. I’ve lost a good friend, a grandmother, and my Dad since March 22, 2015. I have a lot of cards to get mailed out to express my condolences. Here’s the sketch and my card:
I put this together with the new Blossom Paper Pack and stamp set C1605 – Happy To Be Friends. I really like this stamp set because it covers so many different occasions.
I used Smoothie paper and the Floral Embossing Folder (Z1994) to create the base. I sanded the paper with sand paper after running it through the embosser (I use the Cuttlebug to for embossing) the background. It gives a nice distressed look. I layered my stamped image on the Blossom paper. I used Smoothie and Pear inks to create the floral swag. I used second generation stamping to create the light and dark flowers and leaves. I used Chocolate ink to stamp the sentiments and to do some direct to paper distressing. I finished off with some Stickles and our new Ocean sequins!
I was very pleased with the outcome! How about you??
Happy Creating!

This is a pretty and elegant sympathy card. I’m sorry that it sounds like you’ve suffered some terrible losses over the past month. I’m glad you can find some joy in stamping and sending encouragement to others who are also suffering. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Thank you for your kind words. It was completely unexpected. Creating is therapy. =)
