Happy Wishes On Your Day

Happy Wishes On Your Day

This is the last butterfly shaker card and created to send greetings to an upcoming nuptial, birthday, or individual celebration.  The paper is from Hello Lovely, which is retiring on April 30, 2017.

You can see the wonderfully subtle papers here which work well for all elegant occasions.  I think it would even work well for babies if you use the opposites side of the flower paper.

I chose to use Lemon cardstock for the butterfly because I really wanted it to stand out.  I see all the yellow butterflies in the spring so this paper works out so well for this card.  Yellow creates such a happy feeling.

The shaker (butterfly) and the die are from Queen and Company.  The insides are from my seed bead and sequins stash.  I love these little shakers as they make making shakers so darn easy you can’t help but fall in love with them.  The foam is thick enough (you can make the 3D foam tape thick enough by layering it up) to allow the shaker insides to move freely.

When the card stands up, you can see that I took the inside of the die cut and put it directly on the card base, inside the shaker.  This allows the shaker to be put over different papers.  You can see the bright yellow (I just love our Lemon paper) through the transparency (which Queen and Company provides in all their kits).   This card will be in the Shaker Card Party Buffet in April and May.  Come and play!

Take Life One Cup At A Time….it’s necessary

Take Life One Cup At A Time…..

Life can be really crazy and this little hedgehog mirrors my thoughts of being in a hammock, just drinking some coffee or tea, if you please.  I’ve been collecting stamps since 1987 which I suppose, dates me a little bit.  I pulled out this Penny Black stamp from 2000 “Nap Time” (I got this stamp back in Guam).  It’s so nice outside today, I felt like I could be in a hammock and take a nap!  This little hedgehog is me today.

The Penny Black Stamp does not have a cup on it so I borrowed a cup from another Penny Black stamp set “Mocha Moments” from 2015.  I got it from Simon Says Stamp.    I used my CTMH ink pads and a watercolor brush to color this.   I need to do this more often.  I have a wonderful collection of stamps that bring me smiles as I remember why I got them.

I stamped with Memento Ink on the CTMH Watercolor Paper (which really does make a difference).  On the cup, I colored it in and then went over the heart with the CTMH Shimmer Brush (like Wink Of Stella but way better for a few reasons – mainly more juice for less money)!  I put Liquid Glass over the heart and coffee to make them stand out a little more.

I’m showing this image for my friend Connie Estes who is a good friend from Guam.  Her husband Tim was a bee keeper  (as well as my personal locksmith because I kept losing my keys) before he passed recently.  I got this stamp in Guam and the bee reminds me of the awesome friendship I made there.  Connie and Tim both LOVED their coffee.  Tim leaves a big space here on Earth.  On the inside of the card, I used another sentiment from the “Mocha Moments” set.

I bet you all can guess who will be getting this card.  =)

Beautiful and You can get FREE

Beautiful and You can get FREE:

Here’s the last layout for the Hello Lovely WYW.  For the free, read to the end of the post.

It’s a beautiful layout using more of the patterned paper from the pack.  You add clusters in different spots of embellishments using the Hello Lovely Compliments.

The glitter gold gems are awesome embellishments around the stickers included in the pack.   I think you could use this layout for a prom date or other fancy affair besides a wedding.

These hearts are different – they are like a dark gold plastic.  They add 3D without being big and bulky.  =)

Here’s another cluster with the stickers, gold gems, and the Blush Shimmer Ribbon.

The title of this layout is also in the dark gold plastic.  It’s nice to use something different for the title besides stickers and Cricut cuts once  in a while.  I thought another use of this layout would be a sweet candid shot you took of your favorite person.
