Check out this super cute Hello Friend dragonfly card that will be on the Come and Play Card Buffet.  My goal is to clear out some of the stash of papers that I have hanging around.  Using the Cricut to create this dragonfly and retired Dream Big papers, here’s a great card for the Card Buffet!

The sentiment is stamped on a banner from the banner thin cut dies which are on sale for $10.49 or $27.90 in the banners bundle.

Liquid Glass is used over the wings to create the glossy effect.  Tried to keep it “in the lines” of the wings but some went out.  You can layer the Liquid Glass, letting it dry between coats.

Shaker cards are really a lot of fun.  This balloon card is sending some hugs to someone who needs them.  The shaker elements is the “extra special” part of the card.  I used Georgie paper that had in my stash.  I’m working on using my stash right now to make room for the New Seasonal Expressions that will be launched very very soon.  =)

I used Jillibean’s shaker cup, card base, and dies to create the shaker.  The insides of the shaker are from Queen and Company.  All other materials are CTMH.  The cardstock colors are Juniper, Slate, and Crystal Blue.  The ribbon is from the Enchantment Ribbon Collection.  All the stamping is done in Juniper Ink which is still one of my favorite colors.

There is a back panel behind the shaker cup.  I stamped “hugs enclosed” on it before sealing the cup, then you adhere the paper panel to the back of the front of the card so the cup comes through the hole in the card.  I stood the card up for taking the picture so you could see it.  On the inside, I stamped “to brighten your day”.

This is the last Cricut Shaker Card and my last card for the Spring Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop.  I hope you took some time to go over and look at the amazing work!!  =)

Using the sentiment “You are tea-rrific” from the Stamp of the Month S1703 Tea-rrific,  randomly stamp over the Kraft Cardstock with chocolate ink.  Use first and second generation images.

This is the last day you can purchase this stamp set so don’t miss out.  It’s got some super cute sayings and images in itBuild the shaker card on the Raspberry cardstock with your 3D foam tape.  I doubled up the tape and I sealed any openings with Liquid Glass to ensure the contents would not leak out.  Then you can add your shaker toppings.  Cover with transparency.  Add the top of the card on.  Lining up the card is much easier this way.  Use your shimmer brushes on the Cricut Sentiment and the steam from the cup.

The post Hi Friend It’s the Last Day appeared first on Linda Creates.

With an anniversary around the corner on April 1 (and no, it’s not an April Fool’s Joke), this is a great card to have done.  It’s another one of my shaker card experiments with creating the shaker cards from the Cricut.  The Designer Space cut file will be posted on March 31 with the last shaker of the group.  It’s also part of the Spring Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop.  You can click here to see their post, the amazing sponsors, and fabulous art work. 

I used Sea Glass cardstock for the base and Kraft for the top.  I love Kraft paper for coffee cards.  I stamped a retired stamp from CTMH Coffee Stain randomly over the top of the craft paper.  The “Love You A Latte” says it all.  My husband is a coffee addict.  He’s got a K-Cup, an Nespresso, and I think he’s the holder of a platinum membership thingy with Starbucks, LOL.  Come to my house and you’ll get great coffee, tea, or espresso.

The sentiment is cut from the Cricut and piece together.  I used the Shimmer Brush to sparkle up the “you” in the sentiment.  For shaker contents, I used toppings from Queen and Company.   I liked how the new Neutral toppings mixed in with some of the older ones.  I think I like the old bottles better than the new packaging.  I put down some Dreamin Big sequins and added some Sugar Rush Dots to the center of them.  =)

While Oh Deer is retired now, I’m sure we all have some of it left.  It was amazing paper, right!  Here’s a thank you card using some of my left overs.  I created it with the Sea Glass Cardstock (a limited time color), Cocoa Cardstock and Ink, White Shimmer Trim, and Sea Glass Glitter paper (another limited time product).

I love how the shimmer trim and glitter card stock add to the layers of the card in a elegant and simple way.  It’s  dressing the card up without overwhelming it.

The Sea Glass Glitter Paper is cut from the Cricut Flower Market Cartridge.  It makes it really easy to create fun, simple accents for cards or pages.  Be sure to get this cartridge for all it offers – 700 images plus the stamps and a paper pack.  Every flower has a meaning – the language of flowers – so this is a lifetime cartridge to be used over and over as your life goes through it’s various chapters!

Here’s a new card on the Come and Play Card Buffet.  It’s made with the Adventure Paper Pack.  I’ve decided this is “happy paper”.   The colors are so bright and fun.  You just have to be happy when you are cutting them.

Layers really help to make this card.   I love the black background as it really sets off the bright colors.  The Silver Shimmer Tape on top of the Emerald (one of the new Adventure colors) helps to add a nice finishing touch.

Use Thin 3D Foam Tape to pop up the sentiment.  The Bitty Sparkles add the finishing touches to the card. Did you know you can color the Bitty Sparkles with our Touch Markers to make any color of gems to match your project?

“Oh Holy Night” is one of my favorite Christmas songs and this M Stamp is retired now.  This card was inspired by my friend Krista Hershberger, a fellow consultant.  You can make this card in the Come and Play Card Buffet – the last one is Dec 18th (this Sunday).

I love, love our Star Thin Cuts!  There are three different sizes of stars.  The price point is amazing – $14.95 for the three AND they are on a magnetic sheet.  No cutting the dies apart.  You don’t have to buy have the magnetic storage sheet.  The price point is great for the three dies.  Add in the magnetic sheet and you’ll be hard pressed to find a matching deal on the market.  They store fantastically in our 6×6″ stamp envelopes.  The stamp envelopes store in two different organizers, the Large Organizer and the Acrylix Organizer.

I used the Black Shimmer Ribbon which has gold woven through out it.  This ribbon is great for some may different events with both cards and scrapbooking as black and gold can dress anything up.  The gold glitter paper is used to cut the stars out as well as the gold strip on the bottom of the card.

I felt like the black shimmer ribbon and gold glitter in the stamps and trim dressed up the “Oh Holy Night” stamp, celebrating the special event.  Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.

I worked the new Penelope Papers featured in the Seasonal Expression.  The tag is embossed with the floral embossing folder, one of my favorites.  Don’t forget that the CTMH folders have a 4″ slit at the top of it so you can emboss of 4″x12″ paper strip for your scrapbooking pages!

I added distressing around the tag in Canary ink.  I love the new gold and white ribbon.  I actually had stapled the ribbon onto the top of the tag, the decided it needed a bow.

Life’s Good is a stamp from the set C1635 Our Story.   The set works with Cricut Artistry Collection!  It’s stamped and distressed with Crystal Blue ink.  Here’s the sketch:

I used the La En Vie Rose paper to make this card, using the front and backside of a double sided background and texture paper.

This paper is great for Valentine’s Day as well as most weddings as the black will go with whatever the wedding  colors are!

Red shimmer trim, covers the seam of the two papers and adds a more finished look.  The black/gold ribbon is new and I love it!

The cute little tag with the sentiment stamped in Pomegranate Ink and attached to the bow with gold cording.  A black enameled gem was used to finish it off.   This card will part of the January Card Buffet so you can get your Valentine’s card done!  Thanks for stopping by.

The sketch:

I skipped adding the scallop part of the sketch because I put the boat there. When I played around with the scallop and the boat, I felt like it was too much.  I created a pattern on the white circle with a fun technique using ink and an embossing folder (‘ll blog on later).

I used the new Regatta papers and colors and the stamp set, C1642 My Anchor with the matching dies!

I love having matching dies for the stamp sets.  Quick and easy.  I created the card in Design Space and had the pennants and circle cut out from the Cricut.  I used white shimmer trim for the third pennant.

Wrapped it up with a bow of silver cord attached to the paper boat.  I also stamped the inside of the card:

This will make a great card for my husband as he is a sailor and he does keep me afloat! Thanks for stopping by!

I was inspired by the card sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 427.  It’s not exact but has the “window pane” look.

I used our watercolor pencils to color in the images.  I went over the coloring with a watercolor brush and water to blend it.   I find the watercolor pencils an easy option for people who want a watercolor look but not the mess!

You can get great shading and depth in color by layering.  If you need things to be lighter, use water and a paper towel to “lift” out the color.

Create the “water” by adding depth (darkness) of color around the edges of the jar, making strokes following the circular lines of the jar.  Go lighter towards the center.  Create the top of the water by defining a circle on top and coloring within that circle.

Finish off with the sentiment and the sequins. I added the sentiment on the side of the card for a different look (and honestly, where else was it going to fit??).   Neutral colored “gold” sequins have different shades of gold in the packet, giving you options.
