Picture My Life ~ Laughing Lola/Scaredy Cat papers!

I had some extra cards from my Picture My Life (PML) Laughing Lola Kit (Z1944).  I don’t like to waste product so I used them in a different way – I added the cards to my scrapbook layouts!  I used them to create titles, thus less work for me!

This layout is using our New Scaredy Cat papers (X7185B) which I’ll feature in September for a workshop. I had some extra PML cards from Laughing Lola (Z1944).

“LOVELY” is a 4″x6″ Picture My Life card.

“Today” and “Life is Good” are two of the 3″x4″ Picture My Life cards.

A few of our purple Glitter Gems (Z1936) for accents.

I love that the Glitter Gems have adhesive on them.

I made the faux stiching around the edges of the layouts with our Marvy Uchida LePen Journaling Pen (Z1979).

I added Gypsy Cardstock (X5757), one of the compliment colors for Laughing Lola,  to the Scaredy Cat Paper Pack (X7185B).  Even though Scaredy Cat is a Halloween paper pack, you’d never know from these layouts.  Another great use for Picture My Life Cards.

If you love the family pictures, my friend Allison, took them!  She does a great job and you can check her work on on Memories by Allison!

Bling and Alcohol Markers!

Another discovery!  You can use your alcohol markers for adding color to your clear, white pearls, or white metal establishments.  For the purpose of this entry, I’m using clear gems.  You color the top of the embellishment with your alcohol marker.  I used the brush end of the marker.  You can deepen the color by adding layers – just allow one layer to dry before adding the next one.

Results?  Embellishments which really add to my card!

Big “Thanks” to my friend Linda Black for sharing this nifty tip with me!  Get your clear, pearl, or white bling and alcohol markers by Shopping here!

Getting Back into the Swing of Things with Glitter!!

So as I’m recovering from surgery, I hobbled down to my office to play a little bit!  Bed rest sounds good for the first 3 days but you can go stir crazy quickly.   So I decided to play a bit with our glitter glues (X1769 – Bronze; Z1484 – Red; Z1313 – Stardust).  I played with make my own glitter paper and glitter accessories!

Add ink to the chip board – I used Champagne and Ruby here.

Then add your glitter gel glue!

Using a sponge, spread the glitter glue around.  Let dry.  Apply the second coat.  Let dry.  Add as many layers of glue as you need to get the look you want!!

With paper, you do the same.  Remember the paper will curl when wet.  Once dry, flatten!  Have a great time with this very, very easy tip!!

Counting w/ Nov SOM + 50% off

Close To My Heart’s November Stamp of the Month “Capture The Date” is a great, versatile stamp set!  I decided to create some counting cards for my 4 year old to practice learning her print numbers and associating the actual physical objects (in this case, stamped objects).  I love using the little bird from “Perfect Fit Holidays” as the counter.  Our wonderful alcohol markers makes the coloring so easy.  I used our Glitz Glitter Gel – Bronze in order to create a tactile element on the cards to help her  with her touch counting.

You’ll  need the following supplies to create these:

Z1755 – Posh Journaling Spots

44751 – Archival Black Ink
S1211 – Nov SOM – Capture the Date
B1412 – Perfect Fit Holidays (works with the Cricut Art Philosophy cart)
