Oh What Fun we had

I made this swing card from the Artfully Sent cartridge “Oh What Fun”

Christmas Swing Card wm

I played with this for a bit before I was completely happy with it.  I used the White Pines paper.  I needed the saying to stand out so putting Fern cardstock behind it make it pop.

I played with the different shades of the paper to see what would look best were on the front.  If you completely covered the front with either pattern, the words got lost so I only used some on one side of the front of the card and put the other back side.

I made two different inserts playing with the stamp set (D1666 Believe in Christmas) which has some great traditional images (see below).

I have a bunch of the Stickles Pearl paints which I get from my friend Lisa Hamrick at the crops we vend at.  I used different colors to make the ornaments on the tree stand out, on Santa, and on the cut out to make it stand out (used paint brushes to do this).  I think the pearl lends to the traditional look of the stamps.

Even though the cards are more detailed, “what fun” they were to make! If you need a few more Christmas cards, give me a call and come over to make some!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Nevermore in Studio J

I almost forgot to let you know that Nevermore is now in Studio J under the Express Collections.  So super easy because Express Collections are 5 layouts that are essentially pre-done for you.  Add pictures and journaling and you are done!!

1511-studioj-nevermore-us_caLogin or create your account here.  Load up your Halloween pictures or pictures which will work well with the color.  You can change anything you want in the layouts so don’t feel tied to Halloween.  Here are the 5 layouts:

Then you can just add your pictures to the layouts and journal.  Change things as you need or want to.  You are all done.  Don’t have time now?  Create a project and call it the Nevermore Express.  Load up each of the layouts and save the project.  You’ll have 3 months to get it done. Why is this important?  The monthly express collections are only available during a limited time.  Don’t miss out!

Christmas in August

My last card with the August SOM S1508 Framed is a Christmas Card which will be in the Come and Play Card Buffet!Christmas Aug SOM wm

It’s a simple and clean card, which I like.  I took an old flourish stamp set and paired it up with Framed.

The colors I used were Ruby, Juniper, and Slate.

I had some grosgrain ribbon which was close enough to the Ruby to use.  Tied a cute little bow on top.

Love that these shapes cut out on the New Cricut Artistry Cartridge!!  S1508 Framed is $17.95 or $5.00 with a $50.00 or FREE when you purchase the new Cricut Artistry Collection, either the digital version or the cartridge, from me directly!! See this exclusive special offered through me only!

Happy Father’s Day

To all the Dads – biological, step-dads, stand-ins, and those who want to be. May your day be blessed with smiles, hugs, and fun activities!

I found a number of pictures off of Google to share in this post.  None of these pictures or ideas are mine.  I think this is such a sweet picture and will try to replicate it with Jeff and SG.

Here are some Father’s Day word collages to use for your personal scrapping – I love them:

Remember Memorial Day

While tomorrow is the actual Memorial Day,  I’m writing about it today.  I used to think that Memorial Day was to remember anyone in your life who had died.  This is how my Dad had celebrated it.  I have memories of going to visit the cemetery to clean up the grave stones. Later I would learn that it was about remember those who gave their lives servicing in the military, in the line of duty.  So this post is to honor a good friend, Sarah Small, who lost her life, serving in the USAF. as well as everyone else and their families who have made the ultimate scarifice.   I still miss her even after 10 years.

PicMonkey CollageI am grateful for everyone’s service.  Drafted or by choice.  I’m grateful to live in a country where we have the freedoms we have.  We are blessed.  My wish for today is that in all of our differences of opinions on life, politics, religion, and whatever – that we remember we are all humans with faults.  None of us are perfect.  We all fail.  We all make mistakes.  Can we just please remember to extend grace and kindness, myself included.  Remember we are so blessed to live in the United States of America.  Remember all those who fought to provide us this incredible country to live in.

Have a safe Memorial Day!
